Illustrative use case
Community college · Two-year degree
Integrate automation and process-data exercises into an associate degree. Students connect classroom science with instrumentation shared by other training partners.
Combine biological science with process-data exercises.
Practice interpreting trends and equipment responses.
Map activities to course outcomes and assessments.
Equipment across partners. Learning across the consortium.
BioPATHs partners are building shared digital connections between instrumentation, instruction, and employer needs. The consortium model distributes equipment across training providers and access throughout the network.
Connect equipment. Train on real systems.
The shared Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) platform connects instrumentation with learning environments across the consortium. Learners can train on equipment control and data acquisition through interfaces configured with participating equipment hosts.
Acquire process measurements from connected instrumentation.
Use control interfaces to work with permitted parameters and process conditions.
Link equipment operation, data interpretation, and quality decisions.
Use manufacturing data to make process decisions.
Learning activities connect control actions with the data they produce. Learners work with the host-approved controls, measurements, and interfaces available for each instrument.
Adjust permitted settings and evaluate the process response.
Acquire and interpret manufacturing data, trends, and alarms.
Use measurement outputs to inform process and quality decisions.
One network. Multiple ways to learn.
Partners are connecting scientific training, automation expertise, and employer needs through shared curriculum and equipment use cases. Modules can support degree programs, certificates, apprenticeships, and incumbent worker development.
Align content with the skills employers need.
Match learning activities to each program and cohort.
Invite additional partners to contribute instruments, instruction, and use cases.

01 / EMPLOYERS
Talent prepared for modern manufacturing.
Help shape training that brings automation literacy, biological understanding, and quality practices together—for new hires and your existing workforce.
Contribute your institution’s equipment, access instrumentation across the consortium, and integrate modular automation and AI content into existing programs.
Explore life science careers that combine hands-on laboratory work with digital systems, and learn how registered apprenticeships connect paid work with training.
BioPATHs connects scientific knowledge, automation skills, and shared instrumentation. Partners integrate these resources into programs and delivery approaches that fit their learners and employers.
Registered Apprenticeship
Paid work. Structured learning.
Registered Apprenticeship combines paid, structured on-the-job training, employer mentorship, and related technical instruction. Learners build skills through workplace experience connected to the scientific and technical knowledge their roles require.
BioPATHs curriculum and connected equipment can support that instruction, linking automation, process data, and quality practices with employer-based learning. Employers, program sponsors, and training providers work together to shape the pathway.
BioPATHs supports the learning goals; participating providers and employers select the program structure and delivery approach.
